Our senses can help take us on profound and healing spiritual journeys. In fact, during hypnotherapy sessions, this deep focus on the sensory experience is an essential component for self-exploration and healing. Specifically, sound healing is a powerful modality that can be combined with other energy healing techniques such as Reiki and hypnotherapy. Here are a few of the sound healing tools I incorporate into my practice. Crystal Bowls Now more than ever, we are collectively rediscovering and embracing our innate ability to tune into sacred frequencies, and leverage the purity and clarity contained in this energy to clean and revitalize our systems – mentally, spiritually, emotionally and psychologically. Clean, positive vibrations are what we are all striving to connect to, and quartz singing bowls are recognized as powerful tools to assist in this process. Crystal singing bowl therapy is a form of healing which channels the powerful sound waves of quartz crystal singing bowls into our energetic systems. Quartz vibrations are one of the purest sounds known and they resonate in our physical body with these benefits:
Hand Pan / Steel Tongue Drum
Hand Pan (or Steel Tongue, or Hang) drums offer a range of harmonies that add “octave-crossing” overtones and sounds similar to the steel drum. The drums are constructed from two half-shells of steel sheet glued together at the rim leaving the inside hollow and creating the shape of a convex lens. Some steel tongues are made to produce the same note but at different octaves depending upon where on the tongue you strike. The effects of the hand pan drum are similar to those of the singing bowls. They induce a relaxed meditative state, which when combined with other energy healing modalities (hypnotherapy, Reiki, massage, etc.) can be truly transformative. The practical benefits of the hand pan drum compared to the bowls are that they offer a full scale of notes rather than single ones. Tibetan singing bowls According to Tibetan oral tradition, the existence of singing bowls dates back to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni (560 - 480 B.C.). Historians track the practice to India, along with the teachings of the Buddha, by the great tantric master Padmasambhava in the 8th century A.D[1]. Tibetan singing bowls produce sounds that invoke a deep state of relaxation helpful for entering into a meditative state and tuning into your inner self. In addition to their traditional use for meditation, Tibetan singing bowls are used for deep relaxation, stress reduction, holistic healing, Reiki, chakra balancing, and World music. Many people experience the harmonies of the bowls as having a beneficial effect on their chakras. Hearing all of these instruments combined into a balanced harmony delivers healing sound energy waves that can unlock your own inner healer. [1]Source: https://www.bodhisattva.com/about.htm
